• 1993 - BRAC Closing (Base Realignment and Closure)
• Suffolk Forms a local redevelopment Authority
• 1996 - A community Reuse Plan is Adopted
• 1998 - City Files Application to National Park Service for reuse
• 2000 - Parcel 1 (248 acres) is Conveyed to the City
• 2002 - City Files a second application to the National Park Service
• 2003 - Parcel 2 (137 Acres) is conveyed to the City
• 2004 - Master Planning Process is initiated
• 2004 - Ten navy buildings are demolished and removed from the property
