CSX River Line
The Gurnee Avenue "Tunnel" provides one of the few grade separated crossings in the Village, however it is narrow and functions as a single lane, one-way roadway with stop signs. The proposed new structure will provide for two lane operation with two sidewalks for pedestrians. In addition to design services, CHA provided the development of a project website photosims that were used at a public involvement meeting to show design alternatives.
